My idea for our film was a story that has been created time and time again based on different movies. The idea of someone watching an iconic horror film, becoming obsessed and attempting to recreate the killings. One prominent example of this style of plot is The Human Centipede 2, where the film is based on the main character watching Human Centipede 1, and attempting to recreate this. I thought that since we had been looking at iconic horror characters, such as Michael Myers in Halloween, who is often recognised through the mask he used to hide his face, the character who becomes obsessed and recreates killings could perhaps have watched Halloween - and bought himself a Mike Myers mask to be authentic. This could also work with other iconic horror villains that are recognized via masks such as Ghostface from Scream, Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massicre or Mrs Tredoni's mask from Alice, sweet Alice.
The plot would start with a group of friends having a party/sleepover and ending up watching a film together - an iconic horror. One member of the group, possible a male, will take a special interest in the film and watch it over and over again when he gets home. He eventually decides he wants to kill like his idol in the film, and his victim is another member of the group who was at the party - probably a female. He begins killing, a girl from the party first, but soon other strangers. At first sloppily but after each one, without being caught, he finesses his killing techniques and the murders are almost identical to the film. The other members of the group who watched the film with the killer notice the similarities of these killings to the film they watches, and eventually conclude that their friend is the killer. they attempt to recreate scenes from the film themselves, to lure the killer in, in an attempt to catch proof of him committing the crimes. They are successful and record the attempted murder, and promptly hand over the evidence to the authorities. The killer is promptly arrested and sentences to death.
